Find physical books:

To find physical books and media, search Spalding University Library's Physical Item Catalog.

Once you have found an item you are interested in borrowing, look at the information provided. The record will give the title, author, item type, shelving location, call number, and availability. Note the call number to find its location on the shelf in the library (ex.: PS3623.A4384 A67 2013).

Find e-books:

Search for e-books using DiscoverEagle Search bar on the Spalding University Library home page:

Type your search terms in the box and hit enter. On the search results page, click the All Filters button beneath the search bar:

In the filters menu on the right, click the dropdown arrow next to "Source Types," check the box next to "eBooks," and click the "Apply" button:

Once you find an e-book you'd like to read, click the Access now (eBook) button for that e-book:

This will redirect you to an online e-reader where you can read the full text. The e-book's table of contents will display on the right side of the screen and you can download sections of the e-book by clicking the download icon to the right of the section title:

Find books in other libraries:

To search for books available through other libraries, you will need to use WorldCat, which is an online catalog that indexes books from libraries all over the world. To access WorldCat, go to the library home page and click the "Search other libraries link" beneath the DiscoverEagle search bar, or simply visit search.worldcat.org.

From Worldcat, search for the title and author in the Advanced Search option, and click on the record that matches your search. The record will include a list of libraries that own the item, listed in order of distance from your location. Spalding students and employees can request the item through Interlibrary LoanOR they can go in person to a Metroversity-affiliated institution (if applicable) and check out the print book with their Spalding ID.
