The "Search Everything" option on the library homepage is a way that you can search books, journals, databases, and more all at once. You may sometimes hear this referred to as "WorldCat Discovery," which is the name of the software that makes this work.
The "Search in WorldCat Discovery" video is a good overview of how the process works. You can search with broad terms and then narrow down your results using the "facets" on the left-hand side. Or, you can use the "Advanced Search" option to start out with a more specific search.
