The majority of our books are classified according to Library of Congress (LC) call numbers, which organize materials by subject.

Find the call number and shelving location/collection for a book in our Physical Items Catalog; then find its location on the shelf.

1st Floor Shelving Locations (Collections):

  • Art Collection
  • Comics & Graphic Novels
  • Display
  • First Floor Desk
  • Queer Appalachia Capsule Collection
  • Spalding Authors Collection

2nd Floor Shelving Locations (Collections):

  • Dissertations & Theses - LIB 212
  • Stacks
  • Oversized Stacks

You are always welcome to ask at the information desk on the first floor, and staff will be happy to help you locate items.
