Books in the library will have either a Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress (LC) call number. The library is currently in the process of converting all books to the Library of Congress call number system. Dewey call numbers normally begin with a number (e.g., 759.5 M652a), and Library of Congress numbers normally begin with a letter (e.g., ND 801 .H3 1937).

For more information about reading call numbers, visit the tutorial below.

The majority of books with call numbers are located on the second floor, and shelves are labeled according to call number. You are always welcome to ask at the library service desk, and staff will be happy to help you locate items if you are having trouble.
