Laptops are available in Academic Commons to checked out for individual use for up to 4 hours and must remain in the library building. Laptops may be renewed in person up to 4 hours prior to closing.

If not returned by the time it is due, your library account will be barred and you cannot borrow library material until it is returned or a fee has been paid.

To check out a laptop:

1. Visit the Academic Commons desk on the second floor of the library.

2. Sign the Commons Laptop Checkout Terms of Use Form

3. Present a valid Spalding ID

Laptop Damaged/Replacement Fees

If the Commons laptop is not returned within 7 days of due date, you will be charged $400 (laptop replacement) and/or $35 (charger replacement) to your student account, and a registration hold may be placed on your account if not kept current.

You may authorize or deny Spalding University the ability to apply financial aid toward the feeds/penalties:

  • I do authorize Spalding University to apply all financial aid, including but not limited to federal, state, institutional and private scholarship/grant/loan funds received toward the fees/penalties of $400 (laptop replacement) and/or $35 (charger replacement) that will be applied if I do not return the Commons laptop within 7 days of due date. I understand that I may rescind this authorization by written notice to the Financial Aid Office via my Spalding email account to financialaid@spalding.edu. If I opt to rescind this authorization, my financial aid will be used toward tuition, book vouchers received and on-campus housing. I understand that I will be responsible for all additional charges assessed to my student account. I also understand that a registration hold may be placed on my account if my student account is not kept current. A registration hold on my account will prevent me from registering for subsequent semesters unless or until my financial obligations are met.
